Quetsol Life will be a space dedicated to disseminating news, information, research, knowledge and cutting-edge discussions about renewable energy sources.   More broadly, we aim to create a community where individuals can exchange and cultivate ideas not only about appropriate technology, but also all the trappings of a sustainable lifestyle and culture.   Though this blog was inspired by the commercial activities of Quetsol, S.A. in Guatemala, the larger purview of this blog is to promote education and information about renewable and alternative energy sources as well as provide timely and pertinent tips and strategies on living a sustainable life.  There has never been a more exciting time for the prospects of renewables and many of us believe that we are on the verge of being able to leapfrog the crumbling fossil-based grid to a degree significant enough to make a difference.

We hope to foster open and honest exchange of information and ideas in a community of like-spirit individuals.   Our content will reflect our best efforts at synthesizing, producing and cataloguing the most useful content out there.   We also intend to constantly improve and upgrade site features, making it easier for all of you to jump into the fray and share content and thoughts!   Please always let us know what you like, don’t like, would like to see more of, etc, etc as it is the best way to help us improve the site.

Quetsol is a start-up renewable energy company based in Lake Atitlán, Guatemala.   Quetsol provides low-cost and effective solar solutions to meet the basic energy demands of some of Guatemala’s poorest citizens.   Their products allow customers access to basic services that had previously been prohibitively-expensive, reduce their economic and health costs and provide them with the tools for energy independence.   Though their product line is mostly photovoltaic to begin with, they have plans to expand to other energy sources and applications and ultimately provide a wide variety of renewable energy solutions to a wide spectrum of end users and industries.   Quetsol’s long-term goal is to become a leader in Latin America and globally in the implementation, development and promotion of renewable energy solutions across all levels of the demand spectrum.
